Summon Command

  • Java

Summon Command in Minecraft Java Edition (PC/Mac)

In Minecraft Java Edition (PC/Mac) 1.11, 1.12, 1.13, 1.14, 1.15, 1.16 and 1.17, the syntax to summon a giant slime using the /summon command is:

/summon slime [pos] {Size:<number>}

In Minecraft Java Edition (PC/Mac) 1.8, 1.9 and 1.10, the syntax to summon a giant slime is:

/summon Slime [x] [y] [z] {Size:<number>}

Definitions

  • pos or x y z is optional. It is the x y z coordinate where the slime should spawn. If no coordinate is specified, the slime will spawn in the current location.
  • {Size:<number>} is an optional compound NBT tag (formerly called data tag) that sets the size of the slime such as {Size:3}. See NBT tags for slime.
  • number represents the size of the slime. The higher the number, the larger the slime. If you enter a number too high, your game will glitch and freeze!! So be careful!

    0 (Baby slime)
    1 (Medium slime)
    3 (Large slime)
    100 (Giant slime)

TIP: If you have summoned a slime that is too large and your game glitches, type the following /kill command to kill all slimes in your world:

/kill @e[type=Slime]

This will give you back control!! Though you may need to enter this command a few times as the slimes get smaller and smaller.

Examples

  • Java

Example in Java Edition (PC/Mac) 1.11, 1.12, 1.13, 1.14, 1.15, 1.16 and 1.17

To summon a baby slime in Minecraft 1.11, 1.12, 1.13, 1.14, 1.15, 1.16 and 1.17:

/summon slime ~ ~ ~ {Size:0}

To summon a giant slime:

/summon slime ~ ~ ~ {Size:100}

Example in Java Edition (PC/Mac) 1.8, 1.9 and 1.10

To summon a medium slime in 1.8, 1.9 and 1.10:

/summon Slime ~ ~ ~ {Size:1}

To summon a giant slime:

/summon Slime ~ ~ ~ {Size:100}

How to Enter the Command

1. Open the Chat Window

completed summon giant slime

You will see the message "Summoned new Slime" appear in the lower left corner of the game window to indicate that the giant slime has been summoned. You may need to look behind you to see it. Because this slime is so large, sometimes it will hop out of sight and you won't be able to catch it.

Congratulations, you have summoned a giant slime in Minecraft.
